Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S Thirunavukkarasar described Gnani as a great personality, who had the guts to tell any opinion anytime. Dhinakaran, the expelled deputy general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam he was saddened by the death of the multifaceted personality, who established himself in the fields of media, political commentry, theatre and politics. PMK founder S Ramadoss and AIADMK senior leader Vaigai Selvan and others too have condoled the death of Gnani.



Born as V Sankaran in Chengalpet, a town near Chennai, in 1952, Gnani, who was suffering from kidney ailment, died in the early hours of today. People from various backgrounds have been offering tributes to his mortal remains, kept at his residence at Alagirisamy Salai at KK Nagar in the city.

Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan, DMK working president M K Stalin and superstar Rajinikanth have also condoled his death.
