MINNEAPOLIS—A 61-yard connection from Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs as time ran out gave the Minnesota Vikings a 29-24 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jan. 14, in what will go down as the most memorable game in the U.S. Bank Stadium's short existence.

While under pressure, Keenum threw off towards a streaking Diggs on the home sideline. Diggs leaped high to make the catch and used his hand to keep his balance while tip-toeing along the sideline en route to the winning score as the clock expired.

The Vikings had jumped out to an early 17-0 lead in the first half, with Jerick McKinnon and Latavius Murray both rushing for touchdowns. The defense intercepted Brees twice while smothering the vaunted running back tandem of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.

But Saints looked like a new team in the second half, moving the ball with ease when defensive backs Andrew Sendejo and Xavier Rhodes leaving the game with injuries. Brees capped a 12-play drive with a touchdown strike to Michael Thomas, and added another score to Thomas after Vikings quarterback Case Keenum heaved a ball into the arms of safety Marcus Williams on an off-balance throw into heavy coverage.

New Orleans took the lead late in the fourth quarter on another Brees touchdown pass—this time to Kamara. Minnesota responded with Kai Forbath's second field goal of the night, but Brees willed his team into scoring position to set up Wil Lutz's late connection to give New Orleans the lead with 25 seconds remaining.

Diggs caught a 19-yard pass to set up his game-winner on the final drive.

Keenum finished with 25 completions on 40 attempts for 318 yards. Diggs (137 yards) and Adam Thielen (74) led Minnesota with six catches apiece.

Brees finished with 294 yards passing while completing 25 of his 40 attempts. Kamara had 105 yards from scrimmage while Thomas added 85 yards receiving on seven catches.
