Apart from directing a single episode of Dear White People for Netflix, Barry Jenkins has remained absent from our screens since taking home the best picture Oscar for Moonlight.
Later this year, Jenkins will return with If Beale Street Could Talk — about a Harlem woman attempting to prove her fiancé’s — starring Regina King, Dave Franco, and Pedro Pascal.
Following that James Baldwin adaptation, Jenkins will reportedly work on Expatriate, described by Deadline as “an international thriller set around a 1970s plane hijacking”.
The publication also details that Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman will lead the cast, somehow finding room for in-between the various Avenger movies and inevitable Marvel sequels.
