Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of UP along with his members conducted a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday which brought forth many changes regarding the police constable recruitment in the state.

As per state government spokesman Shrikant Sharma, the major decision taken by CM and his members was in context to the addition of the physical test marks in the final results. The physical test marks will not have any bearing on the final results in police constable recruitment process.

UP Police Recruiting for 41,520 Constable Vacancies

Prior to this decision, the physical test marks were added to the Class X and Class XII marks. But now on, the police constables recruitment will be done on the basis of written examination. On the basis of the written examination, the merit list of appeared candidates will be prepared. The physical test is said to be conducted later.

The eligibility criteria of police constable comprise of educational qualification, age limit and physical test criteria. The candidates who wish to be a part of police force as a constable should possess 10th class & 12th standard/ Equivalent from recognized Institution. The age limit of the candidates should not be less than 18 years and not more than 22 years for Male Constable & Constable PSC, 18 to 25 years for Female Constable. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and such other categories of candidates of Uttar Pradesh maximum age relaxation will be admissible as per rules. The physical test criteria is 4.8 km race, which for women will be 2.4 km. completion of this eligibility criteria will help a candidate to appear for the written exam and physical test.

Earlier in a meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath’s government has announced that they will recruit 1 lakh police constable in the coming five years all over the state.
