Ryan Giggs is set to be announced as Wales manager

The former United star has been vocal about wanting to step into management in the past and wants to go in at the top level.

Chris Coleman left his post as Wales manager back November and Giggs as among the leading candidates for the vacant role.

Craig Bellamy, Osian Roberts and Mark Bowen were also interviewed for the job.

But the Football Association of Wales have called for a press conference tomorrow where Giggs is expected to be unveiled as the new boss.

Giggs played 64 for times for his country between 1992 and 2007, but was often criticised for putting his club duties first.

He took a player-coach role at Old Trafford during David Moyes tenure in charge of the club in 2013 and took over as the interim manager in April 2014  for the final four games of the season.

The 44-year-old spent the next two seasons as Louis van Gaal’s assistant but left in 2016 when Jose Mourinho took charge.

Giggs had been actively looking for a job in the Premier League and came close to taking a job at Swansea in October that year only to lose out to Bob Bradley.
