Surrendered Naxals to get land, loan, insurance

Benefits and freebies to six surrendered Naxals in Palamu are to pour in soon for them. Deputy Commissioner Palamu Ameet Kumar has set a deadline of 30 days beginning January 15 to provide them benefits and freebies as laid down in the Jharkhand rehab pack for the surrendered Naxals.

The DC told The Pioneer, “Members of the family of surrendered naxals who want to do business and need loan will be fiscally helped under Mudra Yojna. Similarly eligible member of the surrendered naxal family interested in honing any skill will be imparted vocational courses for this. Families of surrendered naxals will also get insurance cover like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti scheme.” He said a review meeting was held recently wherein rehab package for the surrendered naxals in Palamu was discussed at length and concerned officials were spurred to act fast for their rehab.

Ameet Kumar said naxals who had surrendered till 2010 -11 are well settled.  This year 2017 -18 six surrendered naxals in Palamu will be rehabilitated. One of the 6 surrendered naxal Vishwanath Kherwar has died after surrender. His family will be entitled to the benefit and freebies of surrender now added DC.

Al the 6 naxals who have surrendered have received 50,000 rupees. The remaining 2 lakh will be given to them at the rate of Rs one lakh every year that is these two lakhs will reach them by the year 2019 -20 inclusive of 2018 -19 too.

The family of deceased naxal Vishwanath Kherwar will be provided one government job depending upon the eligibility and suitability of one member of this family, the DC added. Sushant Gaurav DDC Palamu who is one of the members of the district rehab committee whose chairman is DC said ‘ If in the family of surrendered naxal there is any infant or child below six years of age then he/she will be taken care of in the Aagan Badi kendras’. According to the DC one of the six surrendered naxal Shahdev Kherwar has opted to have four decimal of land to be given to him in Manatu block.

All the six surrendered naxals will be provided with 4 decimal of government land free said DC. Five other surrendered naxals have given their choice of land in Daltonganj and in the event land is not available then in its contiguity 4 decimal of land will be provided to them.

The surrendered naxals are Shahdev Kherwar, Vishwanath Kherwar ( now dead) , Dev Narain Yadav, Raja Paswan Roshan Ji and Ainul Miyan alias Govind jee.

Sources said COs of Sadar Anchal and Manatu Anchal have been directed BY DC Palamu to make available 4 decimal of land each for 5 surrendered naxals in Sadar Anchal and one surrendered naxal in Manatu.

DDC Gaurav said the officials have been directed to earmark such land where upon living no surrendered naxals life gets any vulnerable and such safety and security of these people are right on the top of the concern of the administration.

DDC further said children of surrendered naxals will have access to government run schools and if consent for residential school is given the administration will arrange for it as in the case of son of Aenul Miyan alias Govind jee whose son is to get a berth in the government rum open school at Nawa Bazar.
