No traffic accidents on Day 1 of school

SHARJAH: Sharjah Traffic and Patrols Department confirmed that there were no traffic accidents on the first day of the school after the first term holiday. The roads of the Emirate witnessed a smooth flow of traffic.

The Department of Traffic and Patrols has set up plans to ensure safe and smooth transportation of students to and from their schools.

Police have intensified traffic patrols on all roads, squares, intersections leading to school complexes and the entrances to the university city in Sharjah. The police are keen to ensure students attendance at the beginning of the second half of 2018. Police also have taken measures, procedures and made preparations to ensure rapid, effective response to all safety emergencies, student security, reduction of congestion and traffic jams that could affect the school day.

The Sharjah Police praised the positive response of drivers in general and school bus drivers with their instructions to abide by traffic laws, speed limits, speed limits near schools, making students under the age of 10 sit in the rear seats of the vehicle and using the seat belt to ensure safety.
