The little learners of the city carried out an extended and fun filled exhibition and a school fete ‘Winter Carnival’ on Sunday. Hosted by Eastern Public School (EPS) at its premises, the Primary Years Programme (PYP) exhibition of International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is a part of the culmination activity of the students of grade five.
EPS is the first and the only international school of the State capital to have adopted the IB Programme, Geneva Switzerland.
The students of grade five exhibited and demonstrated their research projects which offered the solutions to the problems dealing with various issues and suggested the actions taken to resolve the real life concerns.
Notably, the parents along with entire school faculty and studnets were the part of this exhibition. It was an enthralling experience for the visitors as the students with much buoyancy and confidence interacted with them and explained each concept.
The students gave scintillating performance on issues like bullying, advantages and disadvantages of internet and so, impressing the audience with their acting and communication skills.
Interestingly, this exhibition gave an opportunity for students to exhibit the attributes of the IB Learner Profile that have been developing throughout the programme. Students are given flexibility in their choice of real-life issues to be explored and investigated in the exhibition.
The centre of attraction was the Winter Carnival i.e. the school fete. There was a game zone, eating zone set up for the visitors at the school premises. A lot of creativity was showcased by the students during the fete which was much appreciated. The exhibition was a spellbinding experience for all the students as well as the visitors.
