Looking for something rugged for action shots and vids of the kids biking and skiing.
I like the 20 fps continuous mode and the high speed video.
Any owners on here?

I haven't got the latest ones, but have the tg830. So looking at the upgraded specs i would say it will be awesome.
Mine has been used snorkeling in the Maldives, loads of biking, skiing, kayaking and stuff in the sea.
Gives really good pics for a compact and no issues with sealing at allPosted 11 hours ago # -
I have the older model, the tg4. If its similar then it'll be great. Its way better than my old Pentax tough camera and that was OK. Decent pictures in variable light. Easy to use.

I have the TG1. I've had it since 2012, it's been snorkelling, skiing, up more Munro's than I can remember, dropped, kicked, survived a washing machine and still takes great phoos.
The TG5 addresses the very minor issues I have with the TG1. If/when the TG1 dies or I lose it, I'd buy whatever is the latest version in a heartbeat.

I've got a TG4 - great little travel/action cameras. Out of 4 cameras I own, it's the only one I can take to the beach, in the sea, on the bike, chuck in a bag and generally not give a shit about.
Don't rely on the in cam JPEG's though, shoot RAW+JPEG and sort it out after the event

We use the TG-3 here at work on the ship, more or less the same as the TG-5 in terms of build, if not features.
The toughness can't be surpassed TBH, considering it's really a consumer product, and not some super gnarly pro piece of kit. Dropped and abused all over place, scratched and battered now, but still take perfectly good photos. The F2.0 lens is great, but the zoom is pretty short.Posted 1 hour ago #
