Teen foils 'theft attempt' at Curca church

PANAJI: An 18-year-old girl foiled an alleged theft attempt of two statues from the Our Lady of Rosary Church in Curca village on Saturday. Based on a complaint by the church priest, two unidentified women have been booked by the Agasaim police station in the case.

Agasaim PI Uday Gaude said that at around 1.30pm, the girl saw the women exiting the church with a sack. When she questioned them about the contents of the sack, they allegedly abandoned it and fled. Police said the accused were trying to steal two statues.


Police are trying to identify the two women.
