- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain thumps Liverpool ahead in the ninth minute.
- Liverpool play first Premier League game since Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona.
- Manchester City unbeaten in English competition this season.
- Virgil van Dijk injured; Loris Karius selected ahead of Simon Mignolet
- Both sides have 114 goals i the top flight between them this season.
Leroy Sane's shot deflects agonisingly off Lovren and wide. City turning the screw here in search of this equaliser.
Kevin de Bruyne almost puts the ball on a plate for Aguero with a fine cross but the Argentine can't get a toe on the ball. He was offside so whether it would have stood had he converted we'll never know. City improving though.
City are sixes and sevens at the back. Salah gets Otamendi one-on-one and in the end the Argentine gets the better of him as the Egyptian pokes wide.
Not a good omen for Man City.
.@ManCity have now not kept a clean sheet at Anfield in their last 24 visits and won only once in last 26 here. Sergio Aguero has yet to score on this ground in 8 attempts. Over to you Pep

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City (Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain)
What a start. Oxlade-Chamberlain drives past Fernandinho and smashes across Ederson and into the far corner. A bolt from the blue and City are behind, with their unbeaten record in jeopardy.
A few more boos in Sterling's direction as he goes to ground after an Emre Can challenge. Replays show there was contact, but such was the brief-nature of it it couldn't be a penalty. Bit of a dive in all honesty.
Raheem Sterling getting booed at every opportunity by the Anfield faithful. Perhaps his agent should be the one who gets a slice of that abuse, having first turned the head of the England winger.
Sadio Mane tries to make amends for that red card in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but he can't reign in Firmino's flick over the top. Salah's follow-up shot is blocked.
Liverpool kicking towards the Kop in the first half, after being turned around by Man City. The phycological warfare begins.
So we're just minutes away from kick-off at Anfield. Prediction time looms.
Now I called Bournemouth vs Arsenal spot on, so in the interests of trying to keep up my 100% record this Sunday.....
Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City
Jurgen Klopp says Virgil van Dijk has a minor injury which doesn't sound like it will keep him out for long. Good news for Liverpool.
One of the areas Jurgen Klopp surely has to address either in January or in the summer is in goal, with the German again rotating in that position.
Loris Karius comes in today as Simon Mignolet drops to the bench. Klopp clearly is not fully confident in either goalkeeper to be his number one. Now they have the money, they have to reinforce that position surely.
Man City put their unbeaten record in the Premier League on the line here this afternoon and of all the obstacles standing between and going the whole season without losing perhaps this afternoon represents the most daunting. Liverpool havg scored 50 goals this season and though they begin top flight life without Philippe Coutinho today they do have Mohamed Salah in attack, with the Egyptian having scored 17 times in the league already this season.
Man City's players have arrived at the Etihad.
