It has been made mandatory for Sri Lankans seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates to provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
Accordingly, Sri Lankans seeking employment in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi will be required to produce a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
However, industry experts fear that this measure could dwarf the recruitment processes of Sri Lankans seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates.
The United Arab Emirates has made this announcement saying that all foreigners entering the country should obtain a certificate of good conduct from their home country.
However, this directive will not affect tourist visas.
This new rule of requiring a Police Clearance Certificate for Sri Lankans seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates will come into effect from the 4th of February.
