With a roll of a natural 20, the annual PAX South gaming convention threw a crit on San Antonio as thousands of gamers took over downtown with the fast glow and hum of electric addiction and classic scratch of tabletop mastery.

Fans of video, arcade and tabletop gaming filled the Convention Center for the Penny Arcade Expo, a convention created to celebrate gaming culture.

The gaming expo first plugged into San Antone back in 2015, and since has become one of the largest gaming conventions in the country.

PAX expos are also held in Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia and Melbourne each year.

San Antonio's three-day convention ends today, but on social media people were still doing their best to snag day passes from others.
