Louisville Metro police is continuing to investigate after three family members were found gunned down at home Friday afternoon in Pleasure Ridge Park. Police identified the victims as a husband, wife and the man's sister.
The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Catherine Miles, 27-year-old Mike Miles and 39-year-old Geneva Miles. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials ruled Catherine's cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds. Officials ruledMike and Geneva's causes of death as gunshot wounds to the head.
Police said a family member stopped by and made the discovery around 4 p.m. Friday.
LMPD said the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has arrested 46-year-old Christopher Olivo in connection with the murders. He is charged with three counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
LMPD's Homicide Unit coordinated with authorities in Hernando County, Florida, to locate Olivo. Officials said he was taken into custody just after 10 p.m. Friday.
Officials said Olivo fled the scene with his 3-year-old daughter, a child he had in common with one of the female victims. The child was safely located in Hernando County and is currently with relatives.
Police said that two children, ages 2 and 4, one belonging to the couple and the other to the sister, had been inside the home but were unharmed.
Neighbor Jaren Patrick told WLKY his sons played with the children and he was relieved to know they were OK.
"If the kids were hurt, that was another concern. It's comforting to hear the kids were OK but it's sad to hear the adults are dead," he said.
Keith Harris, whose girlfriend's family lived at the home, said family and friends were desperate for answers.
"I'm upset. I'd like to figure out why. What would make somebody want to do that?" Harris said.
Police are not saying where the children were located or if they saw anything related to the shootings. WLKY has been told they are staying with family.
The investigation is ongoing.
