ACHIEVEMENTS
• Dr. Robin Peace, of Southeastern Medical Clinic North Lumberton, was awarded the inaugural D.E. Ward Jr., M.D., Provider of Excellence Award by Southeastern Health Foundation. The award honors Ward’s 58 years of service on the SeHealth medical staff and his tireless devotion to providing the highest quality of care to his patients, as well as his continuous efforts to improve SeHealth and the community. Peace practices family medicine, is associate medical director for Southeastern Hospice House and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
• Dr. James “Brownie” McLeod, of Southeastern Medical Clinic North Lumberton, was awarded the Dr. Bob B. Andrews Friend of Philanthropy Award by Southeastern Health Foundation. The award honors an outstanding physician, practicing or retired, whose service, achievements and support of philanthropy reflect the values and examples of Dr. Andrews. McLeod practices family medicine and has extensively traveled on several medical mission trips to Malawi and Liberia in Africa and the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.
• Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford has been recognized by the American College of Cardiology with heart failure accreditation, having demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with heart failure. The accreditation process is a multi-faceted clinical process that involves completing a gap analysis, examining variances of care, developing an action plan, an onsite review and monitoring for sustained success.
• Chandan Y. Shankar, a lawyer with the Richardson Firm since 2012, has been accepted in the 2017 American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys’ listing of 10 Best Criminal Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction. The institute is a third-party rating organization.
• David Nance, a retired captain of the Sanford Fire Department, has been named a Hometown Hero by the N.C. Automobile Dealers Association. Nance served the department for 25 years and was cited for his passion to help burn survivors and burn prevention. He was previously honored with the Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year from the N.C. Association of Fire Chiefs, and with the Award of Excellence from the N.C. Fire & Life Safety Council.
• Hodges Associates of Fayetteville created a commercial for Apex Tool Group that has received a 2017 Telly Award. Hodges was responsible for writing, developing and overseeing production of the video for Campbell Cradle Grab Hooks, a new product line designed to hold and maneuver heavy chains in industrial, construction, agricultural and other operations. Tellys are the premier awards honoring the best video and film productions, regional and cable television commercials and programs, and web commercials.
APPOINTMENTS
• Drew O’Quinn and Vivek Tandon have been appointed to Wells Fargo’s Cape Fear Market Community Board. O’Quinn is vice president of Thompson & Little Inc. and Tandon is CEO of Trinity Hospitality LLC. Community boards help the company achieve its business and community relations goals, providing the local bank president counsel and support, feedback on products and services, an objective source of expertise, input relating to the financial services needs of the community and suggestions for ways Wells Fargo can address those needs.
