(MENAFN) The press service of local authorities declared the death toll of poisoned customers of a cafe in the Republic of Buryatia in Russia's eastern Siberia region to have increased to 133.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Buryatia confirmed the casualties to have made their fatal visit on January 8-11 to the cafe "Shulendo" in Ulan-Ude city, the capital of Buryatia.
The ministry also stated "according to the data on Sunday morning, 133 people have applied for symptoms of poisoning. 64 of them were hospitalized, including 12 children."
The cafe is currently shut while the local health department performs hygiene and epidemic prevention tests with the police conducting an investigation into the poison case.
