Local officers celebrated during Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

LAS VEGAS - Hundreds of people turned out to Police Memorial Park on Saturday to honor local officers during National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
“They sacrifice themselves for us and everything that they do for us,” said Jackson Shoemaker, attendee.
Sheriff Joe Lombardo spoke at the event along with other local leaders.
In addition to some fun and games, the public got to spend quality time with those who serve and protect.
“I think it's important to show the youth of our city that we support our officers they do so much for us and I don't think they get the credit they deserve,” Amber Shoemaker, attendee.
This was the fourth year of the event and officials plan on hosting it again next year as well.
