Area Boys Basketball: Knoxville downs United 44-33

MONMOUTH — The Knoxville High School boys basketball team downed United 44-33 on Saturday.

Knoxville held a 10-6 edge over United after the first quarter and faced a 18-15 deficit at halftime. The Blue Bullets outscored the Red Storm 29-16 in the second half to seal the victory.

Cade Shonkwiler led Knoxville with a game-high 17 points. He went 10-for-10 from the free line.

Cal Engerbretson pitched in 10 points while Terrance Dickerson had eight for the Bullets.

Wethersfield 77,
West Central 55

At Stronghurst, Brandon Angers had a game-high 23 points but it wasn’t enough for the Heat. Ben Krueger chipped in 10 points for West Central, who trailed 30-21 at the half.
