The two stars of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update sketch weren't hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost this week. That honor goes instead to two of their guests: Aidy Bryant, as herself (sort of), and Kenan Thompson, as LaVar Ball.

Bryant used her segment to get real with America about being a women in 2018. Mixing bits of herself with an "overly accommodating woman" character, Bryant pulls the curtain back on deeply ingrained gender identities in our culture. She also delivers a scathing take on Mark Wahlberg's gesture of donating his All the Money in the World fee to the Time's Up movement.

"It would be so cool if it didn't take a week-long public shaming to do the right thing."

Then there's Kenan Thompson, who can barely keep it together when he delivers an over-the-top take on LaVar Ball. It's always a gift when an SNL performer breaks character and laughs, and we almost get there this time.
