New Delhi: The U-19 World Cup in New Zealand is underway and cricket aficionados all over the world are already glued to their TV sets just to spot a player who could make it big in the future. Even before the tournament started there were a few names from the Indian camp, like Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill that kept coming up. But come India's first game against Australia, it was the young pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti that everyone was talking about.

So what was so special about this 18-year-old from Rajasthan? The teenager into his first over raked up speed of more than 140 kmph throughout. And it wasn't just the case of trying too hard to generate that kind of speed. On the fifth delivery of his first over, he clocked a massive 146 kmph. It was not just him who crossed the 140 kmph barrier, but teammate Shivam Mavi too reached the mark. As for the third pacer, Ishan Porel, he consistently bowled above 135 kmph.

In the previous edition of the U-19 World Cup, West Indian pacer Alzarri Joseph had made the headlines for clocking 147 kmph. It remains to be seen whether Nagarkoti can breach that mark too.

What is noteworthy here is that these teenagers are touching the speeds, which their senior counterparts don't really generate on a very consistent basis. Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are the ones who get are always in the 135-140 kmph bracket.
