TORONTO –The Warriors did not make that one easy.
The Warriors still escaped with a 127-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors to secure their 12th consecutive road win. But the Warriors (35-9) nearly squandered the game with some unexpected circumstances.
The Warriors nearly squandered a 27-point halftime lead. After missing the previous two games with an aggravated sprain in his right ankle, Stephen Curry missed two consecutive foul shots that blemished a 24-point effort on 6-of-12 shooting. But then Warriors forward Kevin Durant defended Toronto forward DeMar DeRozan tightly on a mid-range jumper that went off the rim. Durant then made a 3-pointer for a 125-122 lead with 21.3 seconds remaining.
It appeared possible the Warriors would have a sluggish performance after playing on Friday in Milwaukee. But the Warriors held a 81-54 halftime lead. The story changed in the second half, though it ended with a dramatic Warriors’ finish.
