Addison takes 2nd at own dual tournament

The Division 4 No. 1-ranked Hudson wrestling team produced five champions and won Saturday’s Airport Invitational.

Hudson won the tournament with 208 points, besting Woodhaven (166) and Division 3 No. 3-ranked Ida (153 1/2).

Winning their weight class were Stephen Blanco (215 pounds), Isiah Krizek (285), Scott Torres (125), Jordan Hamdan (135) and Carson Price (140).

Caden Natale (112) finished second for the Tigers, while John Betz (160) took third. CJ Berro (119) and Jorge Sereno (145) each took fifth, and Kameron Betzer placed sixth (130).

Sand Creek at Addison Duals: The Panthers finished second at their home dual tournament, going 3-1 on the day. Addison beat Pinckney (54-24), Sand Creek (60-24) and White Pigeon (51-24), while losing to Jackson Northwest (45-26).

Going 4-0 for Addison was Nathan Rodlund (130), Hunter Dart (160), Donovan Underwood (171), Garrett Bernath (189) and Luke Yackee (285). Dart recorded his 150th career victory, and Bernath collected his 100th career victory.

Finishing 3-1 on the day were Jannya Boorman (112) and Bobby Scout (140).

Sand Creek also lost to White Pigeon (42-36), Northwest (58-24) and Midland Dow (36-33).

Carson Scroggie (152), Mitchell Moore (145) and Brendan Pickles (215) each went 4-0. Ryan Lakatos (160) went 3-1 for the Aggies.

Scroggie earned his 100th career victory.

Tecumseh at Algonac Invitational: At Algonac, the Indians went 4-1 and took second at the Dick Welsh Memorial Duals.

Tecumseh went 3-0 in its pool by beating Yale 63-15, Southgate Anderson 53-18 and Utica Ford 40-27.

The Indians took down the No. 10 team in Division 1, Walled Lake Central, 36-35 in the semifinals, when freshman 135-pounder Rolando Robinson won a 12-6 decision in the final match.

Tecumseh fell to Division 1 No. 7 Oxford in the final, 50-21.

Mychal Bryan (285) went 5-0 with five pins for the Indians, while Vince Perez (112) and Kellen Patton (125) also went 5-0. Gabe Bechtol (160), Clayton Boatright (171) and Ryan Roberts (189) all went 4-1 with Roberts recording his 100th win.

Clinton at Forest Hills Eastern Invitational: At Ada, the Division 4 No. 3-ranked Redskins finished third at the dual tournament, posting a 3-2 record.

Clinton posted wins over Zeeland East (81-0), Otsego (67-7) and Division 4 No. 7 Pine River (42-27), while losing to Division 2 No. 3 Gaylord (49-15) and Division 2 No. 10 Niles.

Brayden Randolph (160) and Trent Sexton (189) went 5-0 for the Redskins. Earning four wins were Noah Comar (125), AJ Baxter (103) and Eathan Hicks (171).
