PANDM celebrates 8th foundation day

Imphal, January 13 2018: People's Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has been working tirelessly as a component organisation of UCM on important issues of the State like the Framework Agreement and the Inner Line Permit system.

This was stated by PANDM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar at the 8th foundation day of the association which was held at Manipur Press Club today.

Speaking to media persons, Dilipkumar said that people belonging to all the communities residing in the State must unite and work together to maintain peace and harmony in the State.

He conveyed that PANDM, as a component organisation of United Committee Manipur (UCM), has been taking immense responsibilities regarding the pressing issues of the State like the Framework Agreement signed between the Centre and the NSCN (IM) as well as the demand for implementation of ILPS in the State.

PANDM also aims to eradicate corruption from the State and is currently looking into numerous cases of corruption, he added.

Speaking at the event, All Clubs Organisations and Meira Paibis (ACOAM) Lup, Kangleipak, president Ksh Somorendro said that the State is currently facing numerous problems, including the threat to its territorial integrity as well as the critical need for implementation of ILPS.

India is among the top 10 countries of the world with the highest numbers of crimes against women and children.

As a State of India, Manipur is also transforming into a mirror image of the country when it comes to such crimes, he added.

Somorendro pointed out that one can hear and see the rising cases of such heinous crimes in the State every day and stressed on the need of all the Lups/organisations, student bodies and the people to unite and tackle the issue at the earliest.

A society can be developed only when such crimes against women and children are eliminated completely, he added.

International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) president Kh Chingkhei stated that the foundation day has been organised with the aim of creating a path for the future generations and to groom them to become loyal and patriotic individuals.

A person who does not love his/her motherland nor his/her people, has no worth, he conveyed.

IPSA advisor H Ibotombi Khuman, Kanglamei president Y Leirik Leima and Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK) president Ch Pakpi Chanu were also present at the event.
