Ijtema 1st phase Akheri Munajat begins

Devotees offering Akheri Munajat

DHAKA: The Akheri Mujajat (concluding prayers) of the first phase of Biswa Ijtema is being offered Sunday (January 14).

Senior Islamic scholar of Kakrail mosque Hafez Mawlana Mohammad Zubaer is leading the Akheri Munajat.

The Akheri Munajat is being read out in Bangla language for the first time, since 10:40am.

Earlier, Hedayati Boyan (guidance sermon) was read out since 7:00am. Maulana Abdul Matin gave the Hedayati Boyan in Bangla.

However, the first phase of 53rd Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims, began on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi on the outskirts of the city Friday (January 12).

The second phase of the Tongi Ijtema will begin on January 19 at the same venue and it is scheduled to end with Akheri Munajat (final prayers) on January 21.

Thousands of devotees from home and abroad are participating in the religious event, to seek the almighty’s divine mercy.
