Beth Heslowitz and Matthew Hayes are to be married Jan. 14 at the iPic Theaters in Boca Raton, Fla. Rabbi Jonathan Kaplan is to officiate.
The bride, 40, is a business development professional with WestEd, a nonprofit research, development and service agency aiming to improve education, in San Francisco. She graduated cum laude from Cornell and received a master's degree in public administration at Baruch College.
She is a daughter of Adele Heslowitz of Delray Beach, Fla., and Samuel Heslowitz of the Bronx.
The bride’s father retired as a supervisor of mechanics with the Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection in Queens. Her mother, who is also retired, was the owner and president of Town & Country Domestic Agency, a company in Manhattan that provided domestic staffing services.
The groom, 43, is a membership development professional for the Bay Area Council, a public policy advocacy organization in San Francisco. He graduated from Kansas State University.
He is the son of Linda Hayes Schroeder of Los Altos, Calif., and Larry Hayes of Virginia Beach.
The groom’s mother is a business partner in Aplat, a company in San Francisco that designs and manufactures culinary tote bags. His father is president, chief engineer and owner of Atlantic Satellite Corporation in Virginia Beach. The groom is the stepson of Gaye Hayes and Edward Schroeder.
The couple met on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel in April 2016.
