
Saint Rose basketball sweeps Franklin Pierce
Women win in OT; Herrity leads men, now 8-1 in league

Saint Rose basketball brought home a pair of victories with the men winning 67-57 and the women prevailing 64-62 in overtime against Franklin Pierce on Saturday afternoon at The Fieldhouse in Rindge, N.H.
Karissa Birthwright topped St. Rose (7-9, 5-5 Northeast-10 Conference) with 21 points on 9-for-14 shooting, while Isa Vara de Rey finished with 10 points.
With 1:47 left in overtime, Takora McIntyre completed a three-point play to give the Golden Knights a 63-62 lead. Vara de Rey went 1-for-2 from the foul line with 15 seconds left, following a Ravens turnover.
Diondra Woumn recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Ravens (4-11, 1-9).
In the men's game, Shane Herrity led Saint Rose (13-4, 8-1) by going 7-for-10 from the floor, with a game-high 19 points. Matt Cerutti, Mical-Ryan Boyd and Jeff Allen added nine points each, while Julian Lipinski brought in 11 rebounds.
Jordan Lackey and Falu Seck scored 12 points apiece to lead Franklin Pierce (8-7, 3-7).
Both teams will play host to Southern New Hampshire for Blackout Night on Wednesday, the women at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m. at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
