India openers Prithvi Shaw and Manjot Kalra have given their team a dream start in their first game of the U-19 World Cup against Australia. India won the toss and elected to bat on a good batting pitch. Shaw and Kalra began with a cautious start and took time to settle down. But once they got their eye in, both played good shots around the ground. Australia bowlers failed to trouble them, failing to stick a particular line. India’s left-right combination also troubled the Australian bowlers as they could not bowl to stop single. The strike rotation forced them to change their plans more often. The only chance that Shaw gave them was when he was batting on 25. An outside edge was caught behind but that delivery from Sutherland was a no-ball. This is the first game for India of the World Cup and a win here will be good start.
