Call of Duty WW2 fans will soon be getting a big new patch on PS4 and Xbox One

Call of Duty WW2 are set to get a new patch on PS4, Xbox One and PC that will bring major changes to the smash-hit FPS.

Sledgehammer Games has already revealed that they are working to fix issues fans have noticed with the spectator mode.

And now the developer’s co-founder Michael Condrey has told fans about another upcoming change that will surely delight Call of Duty WW2 fans.

Condrey revealed in a Reddit post that Sledgehammer Games are looking to slightly nerf the Combat Shotgun.

At the same time Sledgehammer Games will be looking to up the power of the M21 Sawed-Off Shotgun.

In the Reddit post, Condrey said: “We’re testing a couple things for the Expeditionary Force that I thought you might be interested in hearing about and discussing.

“First, we’re looking at a unit range nerf to the Combat Shotgun.

“We’re close to the sweet spot but weapon balance is literally a matter of micro changes in some cases to get it right for where we, and the community, want it.

“As a reminder, we had buffed it post-launch by +50 units, and we think a nerf of 20 units (net +30 to ship) will place it correctly.

“Second, we’ve heard from you, and have seen in the match data, a need to make the M21 Sawed-Off Shotgun a bit stronger.

“We’re testing out a buff to the range and/or reload to help this weapon be more competitive within the primaries.”

Call of Duty WW2 fans have plenty to look forward to in 2018 - with the release of the game’s first DLC just round the corner.

Fans can also expect another brand new Call of Duty coming out this year on PS4 and Xbox One, with Activision set to follow their yearly release pattern.

And for Call of Duty WW2 fans, it looks like the next title in the COD series will be developed by Treyarch.

The Santa Monica based developer’s last COD game was Call of Duty Black Ops III, set almost 50 years in the future.

Call of Duty WW2’s success was arguably due - in part - to the decision to return to its roots and set the game during a real conflict of huge historical significance.

It remains to be seen whether the next Call of Duty game will stick to a real-world setting or go back to a fictional, futuristic one.

But one thing is for sure - Treyarch are looking to make the characters in their next Call of Duty game as lifelike as possible.

A new job advert posted on an Activision website shows Treyarch are on the hunt for a character artist to create “realistic characters”.

The job listing says: “Treyarch is looking for an incredibly passionate and talented temporary character artist with a focus on clothing and gear to help us create realistic characters.

“A successful candidate would need to understand the important nuances of how clothing of both soft and hard surfaces mold to the human form in a realistic way.”
