Moore's supporters this week sent a resolution to the state's Republican Party executive committee calling for the longtime senator to censured, according to Politico.

The supporters said that Shelby “publicly encouraged Republicans and all voters to write in a candidate instead of voting for the Republican Candidate Judge Roy Moore."

The resolution also said that Shelby's “public speech was then used by the Democrat Candidate in robocalls to sway voters to not vote for Judge Roy Moore.”

The resolution is unlikely to gain traction in the state, though it is the latest sign of divisions among Alabama Republicans after the GOP suffered a devastating loss last month when Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) was elected to the Senate.

A pro-Moore outside group, Courageous Conservatives PAC, released a robocall last month hitting Shelby for his pre-election remarks, and pressed voters to call his office and voice their grievances.

Moore, who had the endorsements of President Trump and his former chief strategist Stephen Bannon, lost the election last month after a slew of sexual misconduct allegations surfaced during the campaign.
