David Prutton's prediction
11:20: Sky Sports' Championship expert David Prutton is predicting a win for the hosts today.
He said: “Cardiff are proof of how quickly things can change in the Sky Bet Championship, especially over the busy Christmas period.
“From being on the shoulder of Wolves just a couple of weeks ago they're now 14 points adrift after four defeats on the spin.
“Sunderland at home represents a great opportunity for them to get back to winning ways, particularly with the Black Cats rooted to the bottom of the table.
“It will be an emotional return for Chris Coleman to the Cardiff City Stadium, but I can't see them getting a result on Saturday.
“2-1 with Kenneth Zohore to score first.”

Welcome
11:00: Good morning and welcome to Express Sport’s live coverage of Cardiff vs Sunderland.
Chris Coleman returns to Wales for the first time since quitting The Dragons for Sunderland.
He has had a mixed start in charge of the struggling Black Cats, who head to Cardiff bottom of the Championship table.
At the other end of the table, Cardiff’s promotion charge took a hit over the festive period as they suffered four defeats in a row.
Yanic Wildschut could make his Bluebirds debut after signing on loan from Norwich earlier this week.
Midfielder Craig Bryson and winger Kadeem Harris are short of fitness while Lee Peltier, Matthew Connolly and Aron Gunnarsson remain long-term absentees.
Chelsea loanee Jake Clarke-Salter could make his first appearance for Sunderland but Aiden McGady, Didier Ndong and Darron Gibson will miss out.
We will have team news at 11:30 with the game set to get underway at 12:30.
