BOZEMAN — For the second meet in a row, Nels Flanagan broke his own indoor weight throw record for the Montana State Billings men's track and field program.
Flanagan, a senior from Big Timber, had a throw of 56-feet, 6-inches Friday night at the Montana State Invitational. His previous record was 54-8 in December in Bozeman. Flanagan finished second overall on Friday.
Flanagan's throw was one of a handful of highlights for the Yellowjackets.
Sam Zook led a 1-2-3 MSUB finish in the 60 meters. Zook, a senior, won in 6.8 seconds. He was followed by Lamont Frisby (6.95) and Mason Schram (6.98).
Isaiah Girard placed third in the high jump (6-6.75), while Marcus Lindquist was third in the triple jump (43-4.5). Girard's high jump was a little more than an inch off the school record.
Kassadee Kuoha also had a top-five finish for the MSUB women in the weight throw (43-4.5).
