KUALA LUMPUR: Severe weather with heavy rain is forecast to continue over the districts of Segamat, Mersing, and Kota Tinggi in Johor and Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan in Pahang, according to the Meteorological Department (METMalaysia).
Its director-general Alui Bahari in a statement said the severe weather warning was for until midnight tonight.
At the same time, he said that most of the states in Peninsular Malaysia will experience temperatures lower than normal owing to overcast skies, continuous rain and a cold front from Northeast Monsoon winds.
"This situation is forecast to continue until tomorrow," he said.
He added that winds exceeding 60 knots and waves as high as 4.5 metres were forecast off the east coast of the peninsula until tomorrow. — Bernama
