GALESBURG — The Knox College men’s basketball team picked up its first Midwest Conference win by edging Beloit 50-48 on Friday.
The Prairie Fire (3-9, 1-6) rallied from a 16-2 deficit at the 11:10 mark tying the game at 16-16 with 4:04 left in the first half. Knox took the lead for the first time two minutes later and carried a 25-18 lead into the break.
The Prairie Fire kept the lead in the second half. Beloit got to within one point with 1:57 remaining in the game.
Jonathan Damota scored 19 points and Deryk Ruple had 13 to lead Knox.
