SAN ANGELO The UTPB women’s basketball team couldn’t keep pace with Angelo State Saturday afternoon, falling 86-57 in Lone Star Conference action at the Junell Center.

Khali Pippins-Tryon led UTPB with 16 points and Kayla Bretherton added another 15, but it wasn’t enough against the Belles, who scored 24 first-quarter points and built a 41-20 lead by the halftime break.

UTPB fell to 5-11 on the season and 3-5 in conference action.
