SYRACUSE, N.Y. >> Troy running back senior Joey Ward was named the New York State Sportwriters Association Class AA co-Player of the Year Friday. The Flying Horses two-time New York State champion back was joined by Section XI’s lineman Jeremy Ruckert.
Troy High’s Dev Holmes was named to the Class AA First-Team offensive unit as an all-purpose selection with University of Albany commit Joe Casale named to the First-Team defensive unit at defensive back.
Saratoga Springs big man, 6-foot 3-inch 280-pound defensive lineman Kevin Toote was named to the Class AA Second-Team defensive squad.
Troy High teammates and linebackers Matt Ashley and Derrick Cipriani were both named to the Third-Team defensive unit along with Christian Brothers Academy Brian Tucker.
Bethlehem place kicker Cameron Scoons was named to the Fourth-Team offensive unit. Shenendehowa senior Nick Krause was named to the Fourth-Team defensive squad, joined by CBA defensive lineman Mike Raimo.
Blue Streak senior quarterback Wes Eglintine was named to the sixth-team offensive unit along with Guilderland offensive end Jared Schwartz and Troy High offensive linemen Tafari Nedrick and Tyler Vanderwood.
Shaker defensive lineman Aiden Feuer and Troy High defensive back Isaiah Burdette were Sixth-Team defensive selections.

In Class A Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake senior running back Jake Stanko was named to the New York State First-Team offensive team.
Averill Park offensive lineman Jerry Marsceill and Burnt Hills all-purpose back Jeremy Clayton were named to the Second-Team offensive squad.
South Glens Falls all-purpose back K.J. Mickel was a Third-Team offensive selection with Queensbury junior defensive back Brendan Scott being named to the Third-Team defensive unit.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake offensive lineman Joe Petroski was a Fourth-Team offense selection, joined by Queensbury teammates defensive lineman Dom Nassivera and defensive back Patrick Conway on the Fourth-Team defensive squad.
Queensbury offensive lineman J.D. Aspland entered his name on the Fifth-Team offense listing and was joined on the other side by Averill Park linebacker Kyle Nethercott and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake defensive back Mike LeVan on the Fifth-Team Defensive unit.
