Depending on what he opts to do over the weekend, Green Oaks coach Terrence Isaac could be departing the Shreveport school for a job at the collegiate level.

Isaac, who left his wife and two children at their previous home in Texas to coach the Giants, has been offered the head coaching job at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, Minnesota.

“I asked them to give me the opportunity to consider this decision over the weekend,” Isaac said. “It would be a challenge to go there, but it would also get me to the college level.

“I feel like I still have work to do here at Green Oaks, however, where the school has been very supportive of what we’re trying to accomplish.”

Isaac and his staff recently had three seniors (Damien Crawford, Kenric Jackson and Lexington Simon) sign scholarship papers to Southern University in Baton Rouge. The Giants finished 3-7 after going 1-9 the season before Isaac arrived.

Fond du Lac finished 1-7 last season with their only victory, a 22-21 triumph against Itasca Community College.

Isaac previously coached at A+ Academy, a charter school in Dallas, where he led the team to the 2014 state title.

Isaac was a NJCAA All-American at Vermillion College in Ely, Minnesota and was the All-American Bowl MVP in 1997. He was in NFL training camps with the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs and played arena football for Indiana and San Jose.

He coached A+ to the TCSAAL state championship and was a Coach of the Year finalist in the TCSAAL. He previously coached at Vermillion, and Cedar Hill High School.
