KSRTC bus falls into pond in Karekere, 7 dead and 10 wounded

BENGALURU: Nearly eight people lost their lives and 10 others wounded on Saturday when a KSRTC bus KA01F8513 plunged into a road side pond in Karekere in Hassan district.

As per KSRTC officials, mishap happened at 3:30am when the bus driver lost control and it led to accident.  The wounded people were taken to the nearby hospital for treatment.

The reports stated that KSRTC bus was going from Bengaluru to Dharmastala and it was carrying 43 passengers at the time of mishap. It left Bengaluru at 11:44pm on Friday.

The reason of mishap is not known yet.

The cop and ambulance rushed to the area after nearby natives caution them about the matter.

Superintendent of Police R.K.Shahapurwad affirmed that 7 lost their lives in the mishap. The deceased have been found as Diana (22) from Mangaluru, Bijo (25) from Belthangadi, Gangadhar N. (30) from Bengaluru, bus driver Lakshman, bus conductor Shivappa Chalavadi.

The investigation is in process by the officials. The mishap occurred near Shantigrama Police Station.

Two bodies retrieved from burning oil tanker in East China Sea

BEIJING – Two bodies have been recovered by evacuators on Saturday from Iranian oil tanker’s fire that occurred in the East China Sea recently after the collision.

On Saturday, the bodies were recovered on the lifeboat floor of the Sanchi. Evacuators investigated the bodies for about 30 minutes.

The photographs of rescue operations have gone viral on the social media. It displayed parts of the Sanchi still on fire. Officials were worried the ship could blast and sink but there were no discussions on Saturday on such a prospect.

The reason of the crash remains uncertain. A body was found from the sea prior this week. Nearly 29 crew members are still missing. As per the reports, there were all Iranian crew but two members were Bangladeshis.

On Saturday, Thirteen ships were involved in the rescue operation to douse the flames. As per the reports, the tanker was holding cargo of at least 1 million barrels of condensate, ultra-light oil etc.

Heavy fire, poor weather and bad visibility have all hindered evacuation operations.

As per CBFC, Padmaavat is scheduled to hit the theatres now on January 25 in UP.

Prior, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje announced that film ‘Padmavat’ will not be permitted to release in Rajasthan. In Mumbai, more than 70 protesters of the Rajasthan-based Karni Sena were arrested.

More than 30 Karni Sena followers were arrested from Haji Ali during strike.

The movie was earlier slated to hit the theatres on Dec 1.

Rajput group involving Karni Sena protested against the movie in several parts of India over the wrong representation of queen Padmini in film.

The movie makers have refused the charges.

A three member panel was made to give their opinion over the film and it stated that the film must not be released.

“The movie should be canned and thrown into the flames of Jauhar. We have heard that it is releasing on January 25 and if so happens we will take to streets and appeal our youths to hold public curfew at cinema halls,” Kalvi asserted.

He added, “I will hold deliberations with Delhi government in this issue.”
