A housing company has promised to carry out more repairs on a problem property.
It folllows a second call for help from tenants Trevor and Denise Leonard about their bungalow rented from The Gateshead Housing Company.
The couple were first in touch with me 10 months ago with a list of complaints including damp, leaks, a lifting floor and radiators hanging off the wall.
Officials promised they would carry out the necessary repairs.
Now Denise has told me how the problems have not gone away.
She said: “Things are slowly getting sorted not as quickly as we would like.
“Just recently the wet room floor been lifted a number of times because of more leaks and the loft is wet.
“All of these issues should have been sorted out before we moved into this property.
“The conditions in the house are affecting our health immensely.”
The couple were also concerned at the amount of disruption to their lives and the health problems associated with stripping damp plaster.
I asked the housing company if they would finally get to grips with the complaint.
And this time I would expect them to sort out Trevor and Denise’s problems once and for all.
A spokesperson said they were in the process of arranging the necessary repairs for the couple, aged 58 and 52, from Rowlands Gill.
The spokesperson told me: “Prior to your recent enquiry we had inspected the property and were in the process of handling the works.
“Following your enquiry we have revisited the property to review the repairs required and have identified some additional work.
“We will continue to work with the customers to complete the works with minimal disruption.”
