PIROJPUR, Jan 12: Acting Information Secretary of the government Md. Nasir Uddin Ahmed was accorded reception on Wednesday evening at Pirojpur Press Club.
Press Club President Md. Safiul Haque Mithu presided over the reception programme while newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Ahmed Siddique was present as a special guest.
The acting secretary said, present government is very media friendly. The wage board for journalist will be declared soon. Financial assistance will be provided to the insolvent and sick journalists in the district as priority basis. For professional skill development, training would be organized by the information ministry and initiative will be taken to build a press club building if there is any provision.
"As a resident of the district, I have some duties to do something for the betterment of the local journalists which are within my jurisdictions," he also said.

Journalists Mahmud Hossain Saukur, Goutam Chawdhury, Ziaul Ahsan, SM Parvez Shrina Afroj, Fasiul Islam Bachchu, Zahirul Hauqe Titu, Khelapath Hossain Khusru, also spoke on the occasion.
Later, a crest was handed over to the Acting Information Secretary.
The secretary also gave a laptop to the Press Club.
