ASHEBORO — The Asheboro ABC Board has announced the availability of first and second quarter 2018 grant funds for the treatment of alcoholism or substance abuse or for research or education on alcohol or substance abuse.


Available funds are dependent upon sales and cannot be determined at this time. Based upon past revenues, estimated available funds will total $3,800 for the first quarter (available in late April) and $6,000 for the second quarter (available in late July).


Organizations may apply for those funds by submitting the following information to the Asheboro ABC Board, 700 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203, no later than Thursday, Feb. 1, by 3 p.m.:


* Organization name, address, phone number, email/web address (if available) and contact person.


* Brief statement about the organization history and mission.


* Whether funds are requested for a one-time or ongoing project, including a full description of the project and how it supports the treatment of alcoholism or substance abuse or research or education on alcohol or substance abuse.


* A budget narrative describing how the funds will be spent.


All grant applications must be signed by the applying entity’s chief executive officer and board chair.
