Buttercup is a delicate 2-year-old rat terrier mix with a soft white coat and a great big heart. This sweet little lady only weighs about nine pounds and can be a little shy at first, so she’s looking for a patient human friend to help her adjust to her new life. Once she’s warmed up, she’s the perfect lapdog who enjoys being cuddled and would be a great companion on these chilly winter nights to snuggle under a blanket for a marathon TV session.
To adopt • Apply in person at the Humane Society’s Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights.
Clyde is a rugged domestic shorthair cat with a handsomely striped brown coat with a huge personality. He’s a fierce but sweet feline who splits his time honing his hunting skills on toys and snuggling up with his human companions — he even uses his arms to give hugs. Although he loves his human friends and, if given time to adjust, gets along with dogs and kids, his stripes seem to have misguided him into thinking he’s part tiger so he would heavily prefer to be the only cat in your life.

Scout is a striking 6-year-old Catahoula leopard hound mix who was born ready for all of the adventures life has to throw at her. This beautiful girl has a soft, white coat with blue merle splotches and a tail that’s always wagging for her human friends. Scout is a wonderful girl who’s big in absolutely everything — size, playfulness and especially friendliness — so a loving forever family who can take her for long walks is the top item on her wish list.
