Randolph 52, Grand Meadow 45
Randolph secured its third straight win on Friday night, defending its home court with a 52-45 Southeast Conference win over Grand Meadow.
The win came despite the Rockets trailing 10-0 to open the game before seeing the Superlarks take a 22-8 first-half lead. Randolph managed to cut the deficit to 24-19 at the halftime buzzer before outscoring Grand Meadow 33-21 in the last 18 minutes.
“The girls really showed a lot of character tonight,” said Rockets head coach Dennis Trom. “They showed a lot of composure, sticking to the game plan and cutting the lead to only five at half. In the second half, the girls did a good job of defensively not giving them many good looks at the basket and taking over on the offensive end of the court.”
Megan Erickson led the Rockets’ effort with 19 points, followed by 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists from Alyssa Whitson. Hannah Neil added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Randolph (10-4, 2-2 SEC) travel to Lyle-Pacelli on Jan. 18.
