Juan Alfredo Jimenez

EAST MOLINE — Juan Alfredo Jimenez, 90, of East Moline, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at his home.
He was born March 16, 1927 in New York City, NY. After growing up in Flushing, NY, Juan served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After military service, he became a Presbyterian minister and eventually worked for the U. S. Department of Public Health. Even after leaving full time ministry, Juan continued to
preach and teach Sunday school whenever given the opportunity.  He also enjoyed camping with his family, photography, traveling the world, and watching the news.
His wife, Shirley Jo Stuart, predeceased him in 1999. He is survived by three sons, Richard, Stephen (Karen), and Timothy (Patricia) Jimenez; two grandchildren, Donovan Jimenez and Maria Clark; three great granddaughters, Bree, Penelope and Fiona; his longtime companion, Carol Gleich; and faithful caregivers, Jim and Stephanie Godke.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, IL where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Pastor Marcus Throneburg will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Park Vista Residents Fund (1451 20th Avenue East Moline, Illinois 61244) or to the Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church (610 S.
