The Providence Journal is providing readers the opportunity to shine a spotlight on their favorite local businesses by nominating them for a 2018 Providence Journal Readers’ Choice Award.
Last year, more than 11,000 businesses were nominated for an award. Nearly a half-million votes were cast for those businesses.
The awards recognize exceptional Rhode Island businesses in more than 160 categories. The top three finalists will be honored at an awards ceremony in May at the Twin River Event Center. They will also be showcased in the Readers’ Choice Magazine distributed in The Providence Journal and on providencejournal.com.
Readers who help spread the word about their favorite businesses will have a chance at winning a $500 American Express gift card.
“For the second year in a row, we are providing our readers with the chance to have their voices heard and to give much deserved recognition to the small businesses that are the life-blood of the Rhode Island economy,” said Janet Hasson, regional vice president and publisher of The Providence Journal.
The selection process is divided into two rounds, nomination and voting. The nomination round begins Saturday and runs through Jan. 28. Nominations can be made online at www.providencejournal.com/ReadersChoice.
