A four-goal second period powered the Greenwich Academy hockey team to a 4-2 win over host Canterbury School on Friday.

With their second straight win, the Gators raised their record to 7-4. Eliza Bowman began the scoring for GA, tallying off a pass from Stephanie Lane in the second period.

Just 20 seconds later, Bobbi Roca scored an unassisted goal. Sophie Freedman tallied shortly after that and Lane capped the Gators’ second-period scoring.

Canterbury scored both of its goals during the action-packed second period.

“This was our most complete game of the season,” GA assistant coach Erin Brawley said. “It was a real gut check for us against the No. 2 seededd team in New England. We had to battle as hard as we could and the whole team played extremely well.”

Courtney DeNaut made 30 saves in goal for the Gators, who play Millbrook on Jan. 20.
