The four-day 20th Golden beach festival kicked off on Thursday at Chandipur –on- sea. It was inaugurated by Eastern Range IG of Police Binaytosh Mishra.
District Collector Pramod Das while presided on the inaugural meeting, sub collector Bhabataran Sahu, PD DRDA Trilochan Pradhan, cultural officer Manoswani Rout and district tourism officer Ajay Mahapatra were present. The speakers observed that the beach bestowed with natural potential has become more attractive with the improvement and addition of infrastructure and would be able to attract more and more tourists in coming days after more improvements. Due to enforcement of model code of conduct, while no political people could participate in it, Sadar MLA JP Dash and other political leaders remained off the meeting.
Harekrushna Das, Biplab Mohanty, Kishor Das, Prahallad Mohanty, Bhabagrahi Mohanty, Madabananda Mishra, Arati Das, Sandhyarani Bhuyan, Amritansu Pattnaiak, Alam Ali Khan, Kamlakanta Maharaj and Gangadhar Rout were present. Several attractive cultural programmes were held in the inaugural evening.
