The N.M. Joshi Marg police, investigating the fire at the Kamala Mills Compound that claimed 14 lives last month, suspect that some more people might have helped the three owners of 1Above stay on the run.
Juhu-based hotelier Vishal Karia has already been arrested for shielding them.
The pub owners, Jigar and Kripesh Sanghvi and Abhijit Mankar, were absconding since the fire and arrested in the early hours of Thursday.
According to the police, the three men went to Mr. Karia’s residence a few hours after the fire on December 29, 2017. They left Mr. Mankar’s car there and then went missing.

“We are examining CCTV camera footage around Mr. Karia’s residence to see which way the accused were headed. We are also checking who else visited the house before they left, to see if anyone else was shielding them,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Virendra Mishra said.
The police are also interrogating the Sanghvis and Mr. Mankar, who have been remanded in police custody, about their movements during the 11 days they were on the run.
“The accused had learned about the look-out notices and the cash reward announced for information on them. They had to have sought help from only those that they could trust. We are making inquiries to find out whether any of their close family members or friends helped them,” an officer with the N.M. Joshi Marg police said.
The officer said that anyone found to have helped the owners in any way would also be arrested and booked.
