Mehdi and Nely Jazayeri went above and beyond when they tore down a 1950s Ranch home and built a sleek contemporary at 369 Fletcher Drive in Atherton.

The home boasts two wine cellars, seven bedrooms and a central staircase with walnut tread.

“They took tremendous care because they built it for themselves. It wasn’t built as a spec development,” said Tom LeMieux of Pacific Union Real Estate, who is co-listing the home with Jennifer Lilske for $18.75 million.

Upon completion, the couple realized it was too big for them, LeMieux said. Now they’re listing the multimillion-dollar mansion in the nation’s most expensive ZIP code.

Menlo Park’s Sullivan Design Studio provided the interior design. Their expertise prompted the installation of a bronze starburst chandelier in the foyer, a bookmatched Pelle Grigio marble slab surround for the living room fireplace and Ann Sacks striated marble tile in the library.

“There’s striking detail found throughout the house,” LeMieux said.

The kitchen features a pair of islands, both topped with slabs of Taj Mahal quartzite. There’s also a desk, a walk-in pantry and white glass slab backsplashes. A casual dining area offers banquette seating on two sides.

Grandeur abounds in a lavish master suite that features a cathedral ceiling and sliding glass doors opening to a private patio. The suite includes a pair of walk-in closets, a curbless two-person shower, a freestanding tub, separate vanities and two water closets.

Entertainment and exercise options await on the lower level. A theater with acoustic-paneled walls, wool carpeting and electric leather recliners beckons the screening of a favorite film, while the fitness center’s custom rubber floor and full wall mirror provide the ideal space for a workout.

The lower level also includes a wine-tasting area with two temperature-controlled wine cellars with expanding custom racks.
