Lakeland residents hospitalized after Citrus County crash

CITRUS COUNTY — Two Lakeland residents were taken to local hospitals following a Thursday afternoon crash in Citrus County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dennis Campbell, 42, was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville and Barbara Ostrom, 43, to Ocala Regional Hospital with unspecified critical injuries.

Campbell was driving a 1982 Honda MC southbound on U.S. 19 when it collided with a 1996 Chevy pickup driven by Joseph Sanders, 66, of Homosassa, which was turning left onto West Faust Lane and into Campbell’s path. Campbell was not injured. Charges are pending but alcohol was not involved.
