Oprah Winfrey would beat President Trump by 11 points in a 2020 matchup, according to a new poll released Friday.
Winfrey would win against Trump 50 percent to 39 percent if the 2020 election were held today, according to the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll.
But a majority of voters — 54 percent — would prefer that Winfrey not launch a bid for the White House in 2020. Thirty-five percent said they want the former talk-show host to run, while 11 percent were undecided.
There’s been speculation that Winfrey could run in 2020 after her emotional speech Sunday’s Golden Globes in which she backed the #MeToo movement and supported the press.
Winfrey has not said whether she plans to run against Trump in the next presidential election.
The poll, conducted Jan. 8-10, surveyed 1,350 adults. The poll did not give a margin of error.
